New Years Resolutions

Hey Internet Friends,
So today I thought I'd share with you guys my New Years resolutions as we are so close to 2017.

1. Alter my blog/blog posts to make it more structured.

2. Relax more and chill out.

3. Experiment with my art more (styles and materials).

4. Read more books as often as possible.

5. Keep on top of washing my makeup brushes.

As you can see all these resolutions are fairly simple. Therefore I know I can stick to them. Small steps at a time. I like to keep my goals achievable as I find I'm more likely to stick to them and notice progress.

Thoughtful Thursday - Reflection on 2016

Hey Internet Friends,
So today I thought I'd look back on how this year has gone. I am going to split this into mini sections so I don't ramble and obviously still keep some things more private. This is just a rough overview of how things have gone this year, hopefully with quite a positive attitude. Without further-a-do, here is my reflection on 2016. Enjoy.

Blog - This year I have managed to stick to my schedule and put up posts when they're meant to go up all year. This is likely to be down to the many reminders on my phone and notebook of ideas so I can plan in advance. This is definitely something I will continue to do in 2017.

School - So, 2016 was the year I sat my GCSE exams and I will admit I worked my backside off revising. Thankfully, it all paid off and I was accepted into the Sixth Form I wanted to go to, as well as onto all the courses I wanted. The start of A-Levels has been quite stressful but I'm enjoying it.

Work - This was the year I got my first job! I was taken on as a Christmas Temp. back in October. I am loving where I work as it got me into the festive spirit early and I work with some really nice people. It's helping me gain confidence as I deal with strangers every week.

Relationships - In terms of friendships, these have definitely changed, but I'm glad to say I've been forming closer bonds with better people to keep me on the right track. Romantic relationships on the other hand, well, lets just say 2016 hasn't really been my year.

Hobbies - In my spare time (which there isn't really a lot of), I have been reading lots of book and listening to a lot of music. I've also managed to find some time to plan blog posts, organise things and get better at art.

So, that's a quick reflection on how 2016 has been for me. Hope you enjoyed.

Present Ideas

Hey Internet Friends,
So, Christmas is quickly approaching and so is the time to buy gifts for people. Here are a few ideas for different types of budgets.

Low Budget
One of my go-to presents for people this year is shortbread that I will bake myself to save money. It's simple to do and you can find the recipe here. If you're no good at baking or just don't have the time, festive tubes of chocolate are fairly cheap and are loved by most people.

Medium Budget
Things like bath products, makeup and body sprays always go down well as presents as they're so useful. Just make sure no one has any allergies to certain brands for things like makeup and bath products.

High Budget
I only tend to spend large amounts on close family members and often buy clothes, jewellery or watches. These types of gifts are quite personal so I'd advise only buying them for someone whose likes you know incredibly well.

Hope this helps some of you out.

Winter clothes Combinations

Hey Internet Friends,
Here are my top 3 clothes combinations to keep you warm and stylish this winter.

Jeans and a Jumper
One of the most simple outfits that you are guaranteed to have in your wardrobe is jeans and a jumper. This can be easily created with different colours and styles of jeans as well as different jumpers. It often looks cute paired with a scarf and ankle boots.

Jumper, Skirt, Woolen Tights
This look can easily be made smart or casual with the style and fit of skirt or jumper used. The woolen tights will help you keep nice and toasty. Pair with ankle boots or knee high boots to complete the look.

Pinafore dress and a Long Sleeved Top
A black, denim pinafore dress, paired with a monochrome striped long-sleeved top is one of my favourite outfits ever. Experiment with different colours, and again, pair with knee high boots or ankle boots and woolen tights.

Hope these idea help.

Winter Buys

Hey Internet Friends,
Today I will be sharing with you some of my top buys of this winter so far. I've mainly been doing Christmas shopping and so haven't bought much for myself recently so apologies for how short this list will be.

Glamour magazine - The main reason I bought this was for the Nails Inc. nail varnish it came with and for £2 it was a bargain. I've really enjoyed flicking through it so far; who knows, this may end up a monthly purchase.

Batman Jumper - I bought this jumper from Primark for just £8 and it's so soft and comfy. I've worn it so many times already as it's so easy to throw on with a pair of jeans for a casual but fairly stylish look. I would provide you with a link to it, however I can't seem to find it on their website (it's Khaki Green if you want to try and find it in store).

Vitamin E Moisture Cream - This moisturiser has become my winter staple this year. It's so thick and creamy and is perfect for keeping your skin soft and hydrated, even in the freezing cold wind. For £18 for a 100ml tub (which will last you ages) it's most definitely worth every penny.

Sleek Semi-Matte Lipstick - I bought this lipstick in the shade Private Booth 1002 and have loved it. Because it's semi-matte, it doesn't dry out your lips and is relatively long lasting. For £5.49 it's a bargain (plus at the time of me writing this post, Superdrug has a 3 for 2 offer on makeup where you can get a free pom-pom keyring).

Goddess of Faith Highlighter - I purchased this highlighter in the shade Goddess of Love after seeing amazing reviews for it online and it has most definitely lived up to expectation. It costs just £4.99 and is also available currently in the 3 for 2 offer at Superdrug.

Rimmel Wake Me Up Concealer - Again, another product that's currently in the Superdrug 3 for 2 offer that's absolutely amazing. This concealer gives really good coverage for the entire day and works amazingly with the Rimmel Wake me Up foundation. It cost me just £5.49.

I hope you enjoyed this post, feel free to comment things that you have bought so far this winter.

Favourite Hair Styles

Hey Internet Friends,
Today I thought I'd share with you my favourite go-to hairstyles for everyday.

I always love a classic high ponytail. Sleek and sophisticated, this minimal effort style always looks great. This tends to be my go-to style if I'm running late for something or just can't be bothered to put too much effort into doing my hair.

Recently, I have been putting my hair in a bun a lot. Buns are so versatile and can be put on the top, back or side of your head. They can easily be accessorised with bows or be made to look cute and messy.

Another go-to hair style of mine is plaits. Again, they're so easy to style in a variety of ways as there is so many different types of plaits. If you are struggling to do them, there are tons of YouTube tutorials to help you out.

A final one of my favourite hair styles is the half-up, half-down one as it's just so simple and perfect for adding a bit of volume to your do. It also really helps keep your hair out of your face as well as helping to frame it.

So, what are your favourite hair styles? What hairstyles do you choose on a daily basis? Let me know by commenting or through social media (links on my contact me page).

Thoughtful Thursday - Growing Up

Hey Internet Friends,
Thoughtful Thursday is back and this time is about growing up.

Growing up is a strange concept. While you're young you forever want to be older. No matter how many people tell you that you never fully appreciate the simplicity of young life. When your biggest decision is what to play with, life is simple.

As you go through school, the days become more intense. Exams become much harder and more important. You begin to face decision on qualifications to work towards and which career you want.

That's all well and good unless you don't know. You begin to fear getting older as the decisions get tougher and tougher. Large life goals loom ahead and forever get closer. The uncertainty of things like illness, fight and death throw you off course sometimes but you just have to keep growing.

I may have made growing up seem all gloomy but I can't wait till one day I have a family of my own, a job I love and to live the life I was destined to receive.

Autumn Buys

Hey Internet Friends,
So, today I thought I'd share with you some of my essential autumn buys that will help you out and keep you snug as the weather becomes much cooler.

First up, a nice coat, preferably one you can pair with thick, snug, fluffy scarves that will take you all the way through not only autumn, but winter as well. This is essential to keep you warm as the temperature drops.

The next item I would recommend is a pack of slipper socks. Whether you wear these with boots outside or just round the house, they are perfect for keeping your feet warm.

Another autumn essential is a pair of good boots. I love leather ankle boots as not only do they provide extra warmth, they are also waterproof. Perfect for walks in autumn showers.

The final thing I find a necessity, is a cute umbrella. It's something you'll always need and be incredibly thankful for in an unexpected shower.

I hope this post gives some of you a few ideas about what things to buy.

Tips For Going Back to School

Hey Internet Friends,
So the time has come when the summer holidays are almost over and it's nearly time to go back to school. But don't panic; I'm here with my top tips for going back to school.

One thing I find helps me with school is packing my bag the night before. I also get out my clothes and shoes the night before so I don't have to run around trying to find everything right before I need to leave. This way I can stay much more relaxed in the morning.

Another thing I find helps me is colour-coding my timetable and keeping a copy at home as well as at school. This way it's so much simpler to know what lessons you have at a quick glance.

I have a weekly plan that I fill in with what homework I need to do and when to ensure I don't miss deadlines and limit stress. This also helps me schedule days where I can relax or go out with friends.

Finally, I like to have these stationary items either at home or with me at school in my pencil case as they always come in handy:
  • Pens (Coloured as well as black and blue)
  • Pencils (Coloured and grey)
  • Highlighters
  • Ruler
  • Rubber
  • Pencil Sharpener
  • Sticky notes
  • Glue stick
  • Stapler
  • Hole punch
I hope that helps those of you preparing to go back to school.

Top 10 Films

Hey Internet Friends,
Today I thought I'd share with you my top 10 films. Now, this was very difficult to make such a short list as there are so many films I love (so this is just my top 10 at this moment in time). Feel free to suggest any films you may think I'll enjoy and let me know which ones of my choices you agree with.

At number 10 is Mean Girls. A classic girly movie that's so easy to watch time and time again and still enjoy. Perfect for watching alone or with friends at a sleepover.

My choice for number 9 only just tops Mean Girls and I had a difficult time deciding which I prefer. Clueless is another sleepover classic with tons of memorable quotes.

The Devil Wears Prada sneaks in at number 8. I fell in love with this film after my sister persuaded me to watch it. I adore Anne Hathaway which helps boost this film above the previous two.

How to Train Your Dragon is in 7th place for its simplicity to watch, making it suitable for everyone. Admittedly, Hiccup is a fairly attractive cartoon character, meaning this film is given extra points. Despite being a children's film it's so enjoyable which again helps it to appeal to everyone.

In 6th place is The Nightmare Before Christmas. I only recently watched this for the first time after hearing loads about it for years and it most certainly didn't disappoint. Perfect for everyone at all times of the year this will always be one of my favourite films.

Stardust comes in at number 6 with its typically happy fairytale theme. It's such a magical movie that never gets old and is brilliant to watch with the family.

Next with its catchy songs is The Little Mermaid. I adore the variety of accents and styles of songs this classic Disney film has making it one of my go-to films.

At number 3 is another Disney film. Tangled just tops The Little Mermaid due to its amazing story line and the amazingly powerful voice of Mother Gothel (and not to mention Flynn Rider - the hottest thief around).

At number 2 is Corpse Bride. The first time I watched this, admittedly the ending made me tear up. It's such a beautiful film done in an amazing gothic style thanks to the incredible Tim Burton.

And finally, my number one film; directed by Tim Burton and staring Michael Keaton and Jack Nicholson, is Batman. Now, I love Batman (there are a few films however that could make the 10 worst films list but lets forget those for now) and this is where my obsession started, meaning this film will always be loved by me. Jack Nicholson's characterisation of the joker is incredible and never fails to make me laugh.

I hope you enjoyed this post.

Top Summer/Holiday Buys

Hey Internet Friends,
Today I thought I'd share with you some of my top things to buy during summer and/or on holiday.

Memoirs
If you're on holiday, maybe buy some memoirs to remind you of the amazing time you had. This could be something simple, like a pen or magnet, or even a mug. It's always nice to have something specific to a place that holds memories for you.

Clothing
Summer quite often requires cooler clothing so I often buy floaty tops and skirts made from light fabric. I also tend to opt for lighter colours in order to really help me stay cool.

Makeup
In summer I often find myself wearing much less makeup. For this reason I tend to mainly buy and wear moisturisers, especially ones that help you tan or give you a slight glow (always good if you don't naturally tan easily like me). I also like to buy brightly coloured nail polish to really help me get in the summer spirit.

What are your top holiday/summer buys? Let me know by commenting or contacting me through social media?

Thoughtful Thursday - Latest Fashion Trend

Hey Internet Friends,
Today I thought I'd discuss my opinions on one of the latest fashion trends. After browsing through shops (online as well as in store) and looking on fashion websites, there was one trend that really caught my eye; the off the shoulder trend.

One of the things I love about this trend is how summery it is! You can flash a bit of skin without feeling uncomfortable or going too over the top. All the tops and dresses look so cute, with many in summery patterns and colours.

Another thing I love is that there are so many styles of tops and dresses that are off the shoulder. This means there are so many occasions you can wear this style. From days at the beach to fancy meals out, it's so easy to dress this style up or down depending on the occasion.

Finally, it is so simple to follow this style as these items of clothing are so easy and affordable to buy. From highstreet stores to designer brnads, there's something to suit everyone.

What do you guys think of this trend? Let me know on social media (links on the contact me page) or comment on this post.

Thoughtful Thursday - Supernatural beings

Hey Internet Friends,
Supernatural beings; are they real or aren't they? No one really knows for sure so here's what I think.

First of all, I don't believe things like vampires, werewolves and zombies etc. exists. To me they all seem to just be fictional creations for books and films to help add excitement.

On the other hand however, I'm not sure whether ghosts exist or not. If they do, I highly doubt they are like how they're portrayed in films. I guess in a way I believe they are likely to be invisible to us who are alive. It's quite a nice thought that after we die our soul lives on and can watch over our loved ones. I'm not religious so have no religious beliefs on this topic which could be why I'm more susceptible to believing in certain types of supernatural beings.

What do you guys think? Have you ever experienced anything that has convinced you supernatural beings exist? I would love to hear about them!

Summer

Hey internet friends,
So, the time has come and it's finally summer! I thought I'd share with you some of the basic things to help make your summer brilliant. Whether you're going away or staying at home, all these things will be perfect for your summer.

Clothes
One of my must have summer items is a playsuit; playsuit a are so easy to wear and can be bought anywhere in a variety of colours patterns and styles. Match up with a cute cardigan and comfy canvas shoes for the perfect summer look. Another thing I love to wear in summer is a maxi dress. These are perfect when the weather is slightly cooler as they keep your legs covered. They look ever so stylish and are again available in all kinds of colours and patterns.

Accessories
Something we all need in summer is sunglasses. My favourite type are round ones as they look cute with all sorts of boho outfits as well as some more punk style outfits. They suit so many people and are so easy to match with all outfits. Another summertime accessory you could buy is a flower crown if you are feeling particularly hippie.

Other
I always love to buy books for summer. It's so nice to sit out in the garden or on the beach and just relax reading a book. Getting books can be done very cheaply if you purchase them from a charity shop. It won't break the bank but also helps out others, bonus!

What do you guys like to buy during summer? What are your must haves? Let me know through social media or by commenting on a post.

How to cope with waiting for Results Day

Hey Internet Friends,

So, now exams are all over, what do you do while waiting these two never ending months for results day? Here are some of my tips and ideas.

One thing I've done is create a list of everything I want/need to get done while I have time off. From organising my room, to getting rid of old revision and taking up a  new hobby, making sure my time is full is a brilliant way of keeping me distracted so I don't get as worried or stressed.

Another thing you can do is make plans with friends and family. Days out will again keep you distracted as well as give you something fun to do. Going shopping or going to the cinema are both great ideas as they keep you out of the house.

Finally, you can read a load of books, watch a TV series and/or watch a bunch of films you've always wanted to in order to help you chill out and stay relaxed. Time off is perfect for this and you deserve to relax after all the exam stress.

So, what are you doing to help you cope with pre-results stress? Have these ideas helped?

Tips to Stay Calm

Hey Internet Friends,
First of all, apologies is this isn't too good as I don't feel very well right now but I still wanted to get a post up for you guys. Today I am going to share with you tips for staying calm.

If you are a particularly anxious person, writing down your worries might help. If you don't like the thought of keeping your worries written down, then enjoy ripping them up after ad just imagine the worries disappearing.

Another thing you could do is get a colouring book and just colour in anytime you are particularly worried about something. I often do this as I find it takes my mind off whatever I'm thinking about.

Finally, you could try writing. Whether it be a blog, story or poem, writing can help take your mind onto something else you don't have to worry about. Use the emotions to your advantage.

Hope this helps,

Thoughtful Thursday - Love

Hey Internet Friends,
Todays idea for Thoughtful Thursday is courtesy of my amazing boyfriend. As I am in a relationship, my feelings about love might seem slightly biased, but everyone has different opinions.

What is love?
To me love is the feeling of safety when someone you love is holding you tight while you're at your weakest. Someone who sticks by you no matter what is always important; everyone needs someone they can turn to when things happen.

Young Love
I hate it when people say "You're too young to be in love". I believe you can fall in love with anyone at any point in your life. It doesn't matter how old or young you are.

I believe love is forever. It's so strong and to me a bond of love can never be broken. It's something that will always last, even through the difficult times.

I hope you enjoyed that. Let me know what your opinion on love is.

How to help with panic attacks

Hey Internet Friends,
Okay so I thought I'd share with you something I feel is very important. As a person who suffers with panic attacks, I know how frustrating it is when people tell you to "just calm down" or "stop worrying". So, here are some ways you can either help yourself or someone else who suffers with panic attacks.

First of all, make a note of days where you are either anxious or panicky. This might help you notice a pattern in when the attacks occur and so help you to prepare more for when they come. Like me, you may also struggle to find a pattern in them but sometimes it helps so you can keep track of when you get better or worse.

Secondly, take up a hobby to keep yourself busy on days where you don't feel too good. If, like me, you struggle to find the will or determination to do a hobby when you're down, talk about how you're feeling instead with someone close to you.

Thirdly, if you are with someone and they are having a panic attack, please under no circumstances ever tell them to "just calm down" as this can be very frustrating to a person as they will physically struggle to get over the attack. They are a horrible thing to experience so gently ask if there's anything you can do to help. If you know them well, maybe give them a hug. Reassure them that it'll pass and that everything will be okay. Giving them a glass of water also helps. Make sure you don't make them feel as though they're wasting you're time as this may just make it worse.

If you have any other tips or any questions about panic attacks, feel free to either comment on this post or contact me either through email or social media (all contact information can be found on the Contact Me page).

Thoughtful Thursday - Exercise

Hey Internet Friends,
Exercise to me is like marmite. You love it or you hate it. I can't stand it! I hate feeling too hot or sweaty. Yuck!

So, how do I stay fit? Well, as you can guess, running or going to the gym is definitely not my thing. Quite often I like to go for a walk with my family in the evenings. I always find this makes me feel more refreshed after a long day. It also helps me get a much better sleep that night.

I also do a 30 day Fit Butt challenge each day, which I've mentioned before in a previous post. I find this isn't too strenuous but helps keep my thighs and bum nice and firm. No wobble, bonus!

Finally, I occasionally do some yoga. I used to do this once a week, however now that I'm spending so much time on revision, I struggle to fit it in. Again, yoga isn't too strenuous but helps keep everything nice and firm.

So, what do you guys do to keep fit? Do you love or loathe exercise? Let me know by commenting or let me know through social media.

Revision Tips

Hey Internet Friends,
For me, exams have already begun so I thought I'd share with you some of my top tips for revision.

1) Writing and rewriting your notes.
This is a personal favourite of mine as I find this the most effective way of learning things. It's so simple and quickly helps you remember vital information.

2) Posters
Creating posters to stick around your home can also be very useful, particularly if it's equations and/or diagrams you need to memorise. These are also slightly more creative and fun to make.

3) Flash Cards
Now, I personally don't often use flash cards, however I have a load of friends who do. Easy enough to make and effective if they're right for you.

4) Other methods
Some other methods you could use are:
Creating PowerPoints
Completing past papers
Quizzing yourself with friends and family

I hope this helps some of you.

Thoughtful Thursday - Animal Testing

Hey Internet Friends,
Today's topic for Thoughtful Thursday is animal testing. Just a quick note before I begin, no images will be used on this post as I can understand how upsetting and disturbing they can be.

First of all, I agree with testing on animals for medical research if there is no alternative option available. Ground breaking results in the medical world can come from testing on animals and save so many lives.

On the other hand however, I am against testing cosmetics on animals. So many brands manage to make safe products without testing on animals so why should others still be allowed to test? As much as I love cosmetics they are not an essential thing for survival. I always try to check my products haven't been tested on animals as it's cruel, wrong and unnecessary.

I'd love to hear what your opinions are about animal testing and whether you try to avoid products that have been tested on animals.

Top Tips - How to Prepare for Exams

Hey Internet Friends,
Most of you (I'm guessing) will have exams approaching like me, so here are my top tips on how to prepare for exams.

First of all, create a revision timetable. Make sure it's realistic so you stick to it. Leave plenty of time for breaks as it's impossible to learn everything in huge chunks.

Secondly, make sure you sleep well. Be active during the day and go to bed when you're tired. Try not to stay up too late as you need plenty of rest.

My third tip is to keep hydrated when revising. You won't be able to concentrate properly if you're becoming dehydrated.

Finally, spend breaks doing things you love and treat yourself after exams.

Good Luck!

Thoughtful Thursday - The Internet

Hey Internet Friends,
So, it's Thoughtful Thursday again and this time it's about the internet.

Ok, call me a typical teen but I love the internet. It's so nice to be able to find out whatever I want with just a couple of clicks. People may say we rely too heavily on the internet but think about how much knowledge we can gain from it; it's amazing. Also, without the internet, we wouldn't have social media and so wouldn't be able to run blogs or YouTube channels. Imagine that, no YouTube! The internet is also brilliant for discovering so many new things. It helps gives us a quick and easy way to research different symptoms if you're ill which helps if it's a while before you can go and see a doctor. The final thing I love about the internet is that you can go online shopping! I love browsing through my favourite stores online, especially when I'm planning a shopping trip with my besties!

Sorry that this isn't particularly long but at least it's better than nothing. I will be starting my exams very soon and so am trying to prepare a whole load of posts that I can schedule for you guys. Hopefully I'll be able to stick to my posting schedule as I have currently all year (GO ME!!) which doesn't happen often.

Thoughtful Thursday - School Pressure

Hey Internet Friends,
So, it's getting to that time of year (if you're in a year group that has to do exams) where suddenly all your deadlines for things like coursework have appeared right in front of you. All you're teachers are expecting things from you and want you to prioritise their subject. How do you deal with this?

1) Plan ~ Keep a diary or calendar nearby at all times so you can note down all your exams and deadlines. Then, create timetables for each day with what you need to get done. If you struggle to stick to timings, just create a to-do list each day. This ensures you don't forget anything and don't leave it till last minute.

2) Breaks ~ You must give yourself time off. You can't expect to get a ton of work done in a single day. Break it up and you'll find it all so much easier to manage. During breaks do things you enjoy.

3) Mindfulness ~ If you are a particularly anxious or stressed person, try mindfulness. I have created a post about it before (click here) as I found it something that has really helped me cope with stress.

Hope this has helped some of you. Anything else that helps some of you, let me know through social media or below in the comments.

Springtime buys

Hey Internet Friends,
So, we're in spring now so I thought I'd share with you some of my recent springtime buys!

The first thing I recently bought was a W7 Power Puff blender sponge. I picked this up from a W7 outlet store and so it was fairly cheap, however the RRP is £5.59 (but it's just £3.40 from Amazon). You dampen this sponge before use and I use it for my foundation each morning. It's amazing! It gives brilliant coverage without caking it on and so looks very natural.

The next thing I bought was a pair of boyfriend cut ripped jeans. As the weather is just starting to warm up, these are perfect for a stylish yet practical look. Along with the jeans, I bought a floral shirt, to add some colour to my wardrobe and get me feeling that springtime vibe. Again, I bought these from an outlet store so unfortunately I can't give you a link to them. However, there are tons of different styles of ripped jeans and shirts in quite a lot of clothes stores o you can easily find one to suit you.

I love books and I also love looking round charity shops, so this next item will be no surprise. I picked up a copy of 'Labyrinth' by Kate Mosse. The cover drew me to it and as I began reading the blurb I felt fascinated and so had to buy it! It's always nice to have a book to read, especially as the weather gets warmer so you can sit outside. I haven't began reading it yet but I will either post a review or post on social media about it when I have.

The next thing I bought was an app. Well, I say bought but it was actually free. It's a 30 Day Firm Butt Challenge which I thought would be perfect to help me get ready for summer! I have really enjoyed doing the challenges as it just takes about 5 minutes at the most each day and they aren't too strenuous. There's pictures and instructions to show you how to do each thing which I found incredibly helpful. You can also turn notifications on for this app so there's no excuse for forgetting!

The final thing I purchased was a Black Contrast Zip Pocket Structured Bag from New Look, which I am using everyday and absolutely loving. It has different zipped sections so you can keep things like your phone safe. I also love the fact that it has a strap to go across your body (which is removable), and handles so it's easy to carry in your preferred way. Due to it being black and cream, it goes with any outfit, making it a perfect go to bag.

So, what have you guys been buying recently? Has this given you some shopping inspiration? Either comment below or let me know in social media.

Late at night she gazes through the window, marvelling at the beauty speckled in the sky. They appear dainty, delicate and dazzling but are really giant, burning, masses of gas. Safe: the feeling she gets as she surveys the night sky above her. People say we are all made of stars. She loves the idea of this; the fact we're all created from something of beauty. Perchance it represents the good in everyone, the belief that everyone has the power to be happy, pleasant and caring. Maybe it's the reason why she feels at home whenever she sees the jewels in the sky. Or perhaps it's just a nice thought that fills her with hope.
Either way, the night sky is a magical mystery that hold so many hopes and dreams.

Easter Decorations

Hey Internet Friends,
So, Easter is quickly approaching us this year and is much earlier than usual. So to help you prepare, today's post is about different types of decorations you can make!

1) Bunny Bunting
First, either find a bunny template online or draw your own. Cut this out several times on paper or card and decorate. Then, glue on a pom-pom for a tail. Next, hole punch either side of the bunnies and attach together using string or ribbon. Hang up and enjoy your bunting!

2) Paper Mache Egg
First of all, blow up a balloon roughly to the size you want your egg to be. Then stick ripped up pieces of newspaper to it using PVA glue. When the entire balloon is covered in a couple of layers, leave to dry. Once dry, pop the balloon and remove from the egg if possible. Decorate the egg however you want.

3) Easter tree
Find some sticks and twigs (preferably some with branches). Knock out any insects and then arrange in a vase. Hang Easter decorations off the branches and you're done! This works really well as a centrepiece for a table.

4) Hanging Eggs
Cut out several egg shapes from paper or card. Decorate using anything you want. Next, hole punch the top and loop through some ribbon. Finally, hang your Easter eggs from the ceiling.

Hope these suggestions have given you some inspiration. Still stuck? Websites like Etsy and Pinterest are brilliant for even more ideas!

Thoughtful Thursday - Gay Marriage

Hey Internet Friends,
Before I begin I would just like I say I'm very passionate about this topic. I'm bisexual and there are members of my family and friends who also aren't heterosexual. I completely support gay marriage. If two people are in love, I don't see why it should matter what gender they are. Just because marriage traditionally means bringing/joking together a man and a woman, it shouldn't mean we stick to that. Times change. People are more open and more educated about different sexualities. Why should some people be disallowed to so something, just because of who they love? It's their life, why should it matter to anyone else? I'd love to hear what your opinions are, so either comment or message me using the links on the contact me page.

Thoughtful Thursday - Relationships

Hey Internet Friends,

Today I thought I'd talk abut relationships with you all. Over the years I've been through a handful of relationships and so I thought I'd share what I believe to be good and bad things about them and the people involved.

Bad:
Okay, so first of all, I find a controlling relationship to be bad. If you don't have the freedom to be yourself then it's not a good place for you. Another factor of a bad relationship is if it's full of neglect. If you don't communicate or spend time together, then what's the point? Relationship's are meant to be two people wanting to be together for as long as possible. It's the same as if the relationship is very one sided, if one of you is making all the effort and the other is doing nothing at all, the one making all the effort is going to feel neglected and fed up of being the only one trying. This leads to loads of arguments which just end up in the 'blame game', where no one will accept that they've done wrong and so it carries on for ages. The final bad thing in a relationship is lies. You should never lie to your partner (unless you're trying to surprise them) as they will only lose trust in you and it won't last very long.

Good:
A good relationship, to me, is one that's full of love and care; one where you can just be yourself and feel comfortable with your partner. I always find it's good if you can talk about anything and everything; tell each other your worries and problems and work at solving them together. A good relationship is about finding someone you really connect with, despite having differences. You don't have to love the same things, but it's nice if you always find time to talk to each other about the things you enjoy. Naturally, there will occasionally be problems but in a good relationship, you'll always manage to work together to sort everything out.

Currently I'm in a relationship and I honestly couldn't be happier. He treats me like a queen. On Valentine's Day he gave me a gorgeous necklace and bracelet, as well as hand warmers and a box of chocolates. He's just perfect, he always knows when somethings wrong and always cheers me up. He knows when to just hold me and tell me everything's going to be okay when I'm upset. So far, we haven't had any problems as there's just so much love and care between us. I can just be myself around him and talk about absolutely anything.

So, that's what I have to say about relationships. Hope you enjoyed. Let me know what you think are good and bad things that involve relationships.

Brownie Recipe

Hi Internet Friends,
Today I thought I'd post a recipe which was shown to me by my lovely best friend (check out her blog here).

Ingredients:
  • 100g butter
  • 75g light brown/muscovado sugar
  • 125g chocolate
  • 1tbsp golden syrup
  • 2 eggs
  • 1tsp vanilla extract
  • 100g plain flour
  • 1/2tsp baking powder
  • 2tbsp cocoa powder

Method:
1) Heat the oven to 180 degrees C/Fan 160 degrees C/gas mark 4 and grease and line a tin.
2) Place the butter, caster sugar, brown sugar, chocolate and golden syrup in a pan and melt gently on a low heat until smooth and lump free.
3) Remove the pan from the heat
4) Break the eggs into a bowl and whisk with a fork until light and frothy.
5) Add the eggs, vanilla extract, flour, baking powder and cocoa powder to the chocolate mixture and mix thoroughly.
6) Put the mix into the tin and bake for 25-30 minutes.

The brownies are absolutely amazing and are fairly simple to make. Pair them with ice-cream while they're hot or just enjoy them as they are.

Hi Internet Friends!

I was thinking earlier last month about what topics would make a good Thoughtful Thursday. I like to sometimes look at topics that people have very conflicting views about; this post is about gender equality.

Why should someone be treated differently die to their gender? Why do we associate certain jobs with a certain gender, why does sexism still exist?
Just some of the things that come to mind when I think about ended equality.

Feminism: "A range of movements and ideologies that share a common goal: to define, establish, and achieve equal political, economic, cultural, personal, and social rights for women. This includes seeking to establish equal opportunities for women in education and employment." * I am a feminist. Not because I think women are better than men, but because I think people should be treated equally, regardless of their gender, race, sexuality or age.

I mean, come on. It's 2016. Why are people so wrapped up in sticking to traditional gender specific roles? If you want to do something, regardless of your gender, you should be able to do it. We don't choose what gender we're born as. We didn't choose to not be 'suitable' for a certain job just because of our gender. It's ridiculous. Why should it matter?

I hope you enjoyed, let me know your opinions either by commenting or via social media (links in the contact me page).

Valentine's Gift Ideas

Hi Internet Friends!

February. The month of Valentine's Day. Some love it, some loath it. If you're in need of some gift ideas for your loved one, then you're in the right place.

First of all, traditional gifts. These are the ones that loads of people buy but there's clearly a reason for this. They are all cute. You could buy your loved one their favourite chocolate or flowers. You could buy them a cute teddy or a nice photo frame and insert a picture of you and them in it. A finally traditional idea is, if you have been with your partner for a long time, you may want to propose! Valentine's is always a perfect day to do this.

Next, we have useful gifts. If you don't feel like being too soppy, then useful gifts are perfect for you. You could buy them a phone case it headphones or maybe even a jewellery holder. Something functional that they can actually use and will last a while so they have a constant reminder of you.

Finally, unique gifts are always a good idea. One thing you could do is bake them their favourite meal or snack (like cookies). It's a simple way to show how much you care. Other unique gifts are those that mean something to you both. You could buy an item of jewellery and get your names engraved on it, buy a personalised mug or maybe even a plaque with your names on. I hope this post has inspired some of you and helped you work out what you're going to buy your Valentine this year.

Thoughtful Thursday - Mindfulness

Hi Internet Friends,

Today Thoughtful Thursday is about something I only recently discovered. Mindfulness. I was in a shop one day and my Dad noticed a book called 'Mindfulness on the go' by Padraig O'Morain. After reading the blurb, I discovered mindfulness is brilliant to help you stay calm. Just perfect for someone like me.

So, what actually is mindfulness? Well, it's basically the practise of constantly returning your attention to what is going on/what you are doing, hence making you more aware of what's going on around you and less on worrying thoughts and feelings. Mindfulness has many benefits. It's really simple to incorporate into your everyday life, helps with stress, anxiety and worrying thoughts, helps you gain more control over your thoughts, and finally it helps you control your emotions a bit more which can help add stability to your feelings. It's brilliant for a hectic lifestyle as it helps you stay in control.

As I mentioned earlier, the way I discovered mindfulness was through the book 'Mindfulness on the go' by Padraig O'Morain. I fell in love with this book whilst reading it and it's now my essential go-to book when I feel anxious. This book helped make me aware of so many different mindfulness practises, all which are incredibly simple to do whilst living my everyday life, without it being obvious to others. It gave me an understanding of what mindfulness is and how it can benefit me. There are so many different tips and ideas in this book for so many occasions I would most definitely recommend reading it. A final brilliant thing about this book is that you don't have to read it all in one go or in any particular order. If you need to learn some mindfulness tips for relationships for example, you just turn to that chapter and at the end there's several pages with different activities you can do.

The book also recommends some websites and some of these are below so you too can begin to look into mindfulness and help make your daily life slightly easier.
www.padraigomorain.com (here you can sign up for a free newsletter and free daily mindfulness reminders and quotes, as well as find books and other useful resources).

If you didn't know anything about mindfulness or have heard about it and not looked into it further, I hope this post helps introduce you to such an amazing practise and helps you deal with life's daily stresses and worries.

Favourite Beauty Products 2

Hey Internet Friends,

A fortnight ago I posted a Favourite Beauty Products post on this blog. I absolutely loved writing it and so promised another one. So here it is!

Lip Liner & Lipstick
I love using lip liner as is can help shape your lips to how you'd like them to look, as well as help them look larger. I always try to use one that is as similar to my lipstick as possible. It's no surprise that I use a Lip liner and Lipstick from New Look, both in the shade Camel. This nude lipstick still helps add colour to your makeup but without being too over the top and so it matches with most outfits, as well as other makeup. The lip liner costs just £1.99 and the lipstick just £3.99 which I think is a brilliant price for such high quality products.

Contour, Highlight and Blush
I've always used blusher, especially since I'm quite pale as it helps add colour and warmth to your face, but it's not been until recently that I have also started to contour and highlight my face. I love it! You can make certain features stand out and emphasise what you have. You can also create the illusion that your face is slimmer.

The blusher I use is a Natural Collection blusher from Boots in the shade Peach Melba. It only costs £1.99 and so is incredibly cheap, however it's incredibly pigmented and lasts such a long time.

For contouring and highlighting, I use the Makeup Revolution Sculpt and Contour kit which can be purchased from Superdrug for £3.50. It does come with a blusher, however I much prefer my one from Natural Collection.

Nail Varnish
I love wearing nail varnish as you can change it to match different aspects of your appearance and colour co-ordinate it with your favourite lippy or handbag. I find my nails are often stronger and break less easily after coating them with nail varnish and so they tend to grow longer. It will be no shock to see that yet again, I have opted for a makeup product from New Look. The Matte Nail Polish in the shade mink is absolutely gorgeous. It's fairly subtle and so goes well with almost anything. Another bonus is that I find it also dries incredibly quickly!

So, that's it guys! The second part to my Favourite Beauty Products. I hope you enjoyed it. Feel free to let me know which beauty products are your favourite, even if I haven't mentioned them on here as I am always looking for new thing to try.

Thoughtful Thursday - Social Media

Hey Internet Friends,

So, today's Thoughtful Thursday is all about social media and whether it's a good thing or not. Lots of people, including myself, use some form of social media but is it really worth it?

On one hand social media is brilliant as it enables you to communicate with people worldwide incredibly easily. This can be great if you want to keep in contact with family members or friends who don't live near by. It also allows you to interact with your favourite celebrities which would be incredibly difficult without the use of social media. Another bonus of social media is that you can openly express your opinion about a topic and find people who feel the same way as you. This can quickly lead to conversation and before you know it, you have another friend. Finally, social media can help broaden our knowledge on what's going on in the world around us. It provides us with so many links to and comments about different news stories, which helps make us all more aware.

On the other hand however, social media can often cause problems. For starters, you will always get people who share ignorant opinions which can be offensive to others. From this spring the haters and bullies who spend their time annoying and upsetting people as they have nothing better to do. Social media, unfortunately, makes it easier (in my opinion) to come across unpleasant people who may be lying to you about who they are. If it goes too far, you could end up putting yourself at risk. Finally, social media is full of photo-shopped images of celebrities and models. If you come across these often, it can occasionally lead to negative thoughts about yourself as you see more and more of an unrealistic ideal.

As you can see, social media has both advantages and disadvantages. I personally think it's a brilliant thing, provided you stay safe. What do you think?

Just as a side note, if you are experiencing any bullying online, make sure you don't go through it alone. Get help online or talk to someone you trust about it. Remember to report any horrible behaviour as it can prevent some others from being targeted.

Favourite Beauty Products 1

Hey Internet Friends,

First of all I'm so sorry for not posting in ages. I just haven't had any inspiration at all and any ideas I've had just don't seem good enough. Secondly, I hope you've all had a lovely holiday season and happy new year! Now, on with the beauty products!

Exfoliators
It's incredibly important to use exfoliators every now and then to help remove dead, dry skin which helps make your skin feel much smoother. This can help unblock pores which is beneficial for your appearance as it means you're less likely to break out with spots and blackheads. It can also help makes pores appear less noticeable.

For my face, I use the Tea Tree Exfoliating Scrub from Superdrug. Costing just £3.29 for 75ml, it is brilliant for keeping those pesky spots at bay, without being too harsh on skin. It contains tea tree and peppermint oils as well as granules of walnut shell to give your face a thorough cleanse.

For the rest of my body I have recently started using the Blueberry Body Scrub-Gelee from The Body Shop. For a 200ml tub, this body scrub usually costs £13.00, however it is currently reduced to £6.50 and so is an absolute bargain. Again, it's gentle on the skin but helps cleanse incredibly well. It has an amazing blueberry smell, but isn't sickly or overpowering as certain products often can be.

Moisturisers
If you want to keep balance in your skin and keep it super soft, its a good idea to use moisturiser daily. It can work brilliantly as a base for makeup and also works as a barrier for your skin to retain the required amount of moisture.

Before applying my makeup, every morning I apply Superdrug's Tea Tree Moisturising Face Cream. It costs £3.29 for 30ml but lasts absolutely ages as a little goes a long way. The pump on it makes it super easy to get the right amount you need each time without using too much. It's perfect if you are prone to spots or have fairly oily skin like me.

Foundation and Concealer
A few months ago I discovered the Pure Colour makeup range at New Look and have fallen in love with it. I didn't have very high expectations to begin with due to the fairly cheap prices, however after using some of the products I fell in love with them and now I mainly purchase my makeup from there.

The foundation I use is the Pure Colour Liquid Foundation which costs just £4.99 for 35ml. This is an incredibly reasonable price for such a good quality foundation. It is a semi-matte foundation that provides medium coverage and is oil free and enriched with vitamin E to keep your skin looking fabulous. It can ve applied so easily and doesn't look cakey at all.

The concealer I use is the Pure Colour Liquid Concealer. It's so easy to use due to having a small brush attached to it which the product is released through to ensure precise application. It lasts a very long time due to such brilliant coverage meaning you don't have to use much and at £3.99, it is well worth it.

I hope you guys find this all useful when looking for new beauty products. I haven't covered all of my favourite beauty products so keep your eyes peeled for a second beauty products post coming soon.
